I recently received a hard copy of a book, “Right Wing Revolution”.

The author - Charlie Kirk - gives a good definition of the term.

Here’s an excerpt from the first page of the second chapter that is titled: What is Woke?

“...wokeness is a mental illness that believes itself to be the cure…”

Kirk elaborates on that in great detail but I have my own definition.

It based on Holy Scripture, from the book of Isaiah chapter 5, verse 20:

“...Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;

who exchange darkness for light, and light for darkness;

who exchange bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!...”

In my opinion, that exposes the core of “Woke ideology”.

I do agree with Elon Musk who described the condition as a “mind virus”.

Further elaboration of my part may be unnecessary and redundant so...

I will close my comment on that particular topic with a repeat of a statement;

One that I’ve made many times before:

There is no better source of wisdom than the words of Scripture inspired by God’s Holy Spirit.

Recently I wrote a "Thank You" note to a good friend who gave me a book authored by Hugh Ross.  I'm including a copy of the complete text of the note since it includes some ideas that may never arise again so I put those thoughts in writing.

Here's the note copy:

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Linda.  Just want to thank you again for your gift of Hugh Ross's book.  For most of my Christian life I associated with the evangelical church but I'm starting to see why people have been abandoning it - there's so much ego & error!  It makes me wonder why God allows so many people to believe in things that are untrue (I'm thinking of Flat Earth belief or even Young Earth Creationism such as exemplified by Ken Ham and his "Ark Encounter"  exhibit in Kentucky).

But I see that sometimes God not only allows delusion, He actually sends it as stated in 1 Thes 2:11-12.  (Therefore God will send them a strong delusion, that they should believe the lie: that they all might be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.)

Here's a couple of links to articles that I just read that really piqued my interest:

https://biologos.org/articles/famous-christians-who-believed-evolution-is-compatible-with-christian-faith

And this one:

I think another reason why God allows some people to stay in their delusion is for the sake of unity.  Those who discover some truth that most others haven't discovered yet become very vocal and divisive about their newfound knowledge - as yours truly has done many times.

It's quite obvious to me now why He says that we must speak the Truth in Love.  If the motivation is to correct error then it becomes divisive.

My prayer is that God will allow we believers to do just that - to propagate the Truth in love.

Thanks Linda for taking the time to read all this stuff and thanks again for steering me to Hugh Ross.  Lots of people are stuck in a cult-like belief system but, as His Word says, the Truth sets people free.

The reason I have added this post to my blog:

For anyone (especially my children and grandchildren) who may ever read this in the future (perhaps after I have died) my greatest desire for them is enlightenment to the fact that Jesus is who He said He is and for them to experience the indescribably joy of knowing Him and yes, admittedly, experiencing the joy of having the privilege of being able to be smug about having made this most amazing discovery.

And I pray that that smugness not be the type of pride or ego trip that causes a person to be resisted by our Lord Himself, because...

"...He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble...” - James 4:6
