Time for a brief blog ...

In John 14:12 our Lord said we could do the works that He does, and even greater works when He goes to "The Father".

So ... Can we expect to be able to do the same things that the apostles did?

I would say yes but I wouldn't expect those kinds of miracles to be common place.  However, there are places around the world where major miracles ARE happening, even as I write these words.  Thanks to the "modern miracle" of the internet we can see these things happening right now.  I recently viewed (via Skype) miracles of healing in Pakistan and places where people are discovering for the first time the historical and current reality of the power of the living Christ.

So ... Have I done anything comparable to what any of the apostles did?  Yes, I have, and so have many others here in the "western world".  For example, many have suffered persecution for speaking the truth although it's nothing like, say the apostle Paul suffered.  Today, the written word can be powerful.  It surely was for him.  Check this out:

2 Corinthians 10:10 - "...'for his letters they say' are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible'...".

I can imagine people seeing the apostle and saying: "...Look at this guy - he's no different than the rest of us...", but when they experienced the Truth (notice I deliberately capitalized that word) through his writings they realized that this man really did have an experience with the living almighty God Himself.  Such is the power of God's Word even as it came from the pen of this man formerly known as "Saul of Tarsus".

God still does the same today, bringing people to Christ in salvation, through the ordinary tools of mass communication.

Ordinary people like you, the reader, and I are still being used today to spread His Truth, even if it's just in a small way, to increase one's awareness of their need for faith and repentance.

A prayer:  "...Oh my dear and loving Heavenly Father, please "...let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer...".
